BHNCDSB Kindergarten Registration - Opens October 1

This is an important update regarding BHNCDSB’s kindergarten registration process, and information explaining our new events titled: Road to Kindergarten.

Beginning this year, kindergarten registration will open on October 1. As part of this change, we will no longer offer Kick Start to Kindergarten in March at select schools. Instead, we are introducing The Road to Kindergarten, in November, a series of five community-based, hands-on events designed to help children and families begin their Catholic education journey.

More than an information session, these events will provide children with opportunities to meet their future teachers and principals, make new friends, explore a school bus, connect with community partners, and participate in engaging activities throughout the event. Families will also complete an Early Years Checkpoint screening appointment as part of the kindergarten registration process.

In October, when families register their child for kindergarten, they will receive an invitation to attend and sign up for The Road to Kindergarten event closest to their child’s school. Having said that, kindergarten registration never closes but we are encouraging people to register in October.
